Ohio Republican Senate hopeful J.D. Vance, author of the best-selling book Hillbilly Elegy, won his primary Tuesday night, after getting endorsed by former President Donald Trump. The Associated Press called Vance's race at 9:35 p.m., after he comfortably pulled away from rivals including former state Treasurer Josh Mandel and state Sen. Matt Dolan. Vance had pulled away from Mandel, who was in the No. 2 spot, by about six points. He did particularly well in rural Ohio. The Ohio Republican Senate primary is the first to offer a glance at the former president's hold over the Republican Party going into the 2022 midterms. Trump endorsed Vance last month - despite Vance making anti-Trump comments in the past - arguing he was in the best position to keep the retiring Sen. Rob Portman's seat in Republican hands. Trump vowed to never support Dolan citing the Guardians' name change. 'Anybody that changes the name of the once storied Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians should not be running for the United States Senate representing the Great People of Ohio,' Trump said back in September, when Dolan entered the race. Other prominent Republicans had endorsed Mandel's campaign including Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Trump's former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

Moment female jail guard, 56, sneaks 6ft 9in 'monster' lover out of Alabama prison before they go on the run with a shotgun and AR-15 as the convict's ex-girlfriend warns her: 'If you're still alive get the hell out - run'

Vicky White (top right) was caught on a security camera (left) creeping out of Lauderdale County jail with 6ft 9in 'monster' Casey White (bottom right). The 56-year-old widow held the door for the 38-year-old thug - who was still wearing handcuffs - before they got into a black car and sped off at 9.30am on Friday. It comes as the maniac's ex-girlfriend begged Vicky to flee the killer as they spent a fifth day on the run. The woman, who has not been named but was shot by Casey in 2015, warned her she was 'disposable' to the killer. She said he had 'manipulated' her and she needed to seek help before she 'loses her life or somebody else does'. Meanwhile police revealed other inmates had told them Vicky and Casey - who were not related - had a 'special relationship' in the jail. The US Marshals Service said they suspected the pair are armed with an AR-15 and a shotgun and may have used a copper 2007 Ford Edge during their escape. The apparent lovers made a break for it on Friday after Vicky told superiors she was going to take Casey for a mental health evaluation on her last day before retirement. But cops and federal agents have launched a huge manhunt and drip-fed more information about the duo - including that the jailer had two fake names herself.

Biden says upending Roe v. Wade would be 'radical' and could impact gay marriage: President demands Congress makes abortion 'the law of the land' - as Schumer and Pelosi blame TRUMP

Biden vowed the White House would be 'ready when any ruling is issued' and urged voters to 'elect more pro-choice senators' in perhaps a veiled shot at moderates in his party. 'If the Court does overturn Roe, it will fall on our nation's elected officials at all levels of government to protect a woman's right to choose. And it will fall on voters to elect pro-choice officials this November,' Biden pressed. 'At the federal level, we will need more pro-choice Senators and a pro-choice majority in the House to adopt legislation that codifies Roe which I will work to pass and sign into law.' Conservatives throughout the country celebrated the news of a Supreme Court draft opinion that is set to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade case - but have denounced the leak as an attempt to 'intimidate' the justices into changing their minds.

Amazon told its staff it will pay up to $4,000 in travel expenses annually for non-life threatening medical treatments including abortions, according to a message seen by Reuters.

An examination of different polls give conflicting information on what Americans actually feel about the issue, and how abortion should be restricted - if at all - across the country. A recent ABC poll found 54% think Roe v. Wade should be upheld and 28% think it should be overturned 44% of people polled by Maris say it should be down to individual states to decide. Forty eight percent said they would support the same law to apply after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Bridgers opened up about her experience on Instagram Stories Tuesday. The 27-year-old singer explained that she had an abortion in October while on tour (right), saying she went to Planned Parenthood and was given an abortion pill. Bridgers stressed that 'everyone deserves that kind of access' while sharing a link to a list of abortion funds that her fans can donate to. The four-time Grammy nominee's post came the day after she attended the Met Gala with her boyfriend, actor Paul Mescal. The couple sparked dating rumors in August 2020, and they made their relationship Instagram official in December 2021. Bridger shared her story in response to a leaked draft opinion indicating the US Supreme Court is set to overturn Roe v. Wade next month. Chief Justice John Roberts confirmed the authenticity of the opinion, but he added that it does not represent the 'final decision' of any members of the court.

'Republicans have been waiting for this': Furious Elizabeth Warren joins Supreme Court protesters to slam 'extremist' justices who want to 'impose views' on Americans - as heckler shouts that she wants to 'dismember children'

An 'angry' Sen. Elizabeth Warren rushed to join protesters outside the Supreme Court Tuesday to slam a draft decision that would strike down Roe v. Wade. She accused conservatives of 'plotting, carefully cultivating these Supreme Court justices,' and said the ruling would hurt poor women most of all. 'They knew what they were getting when they voted for these people. And this is what they want. It is up to the rest of us to make the legislative process work,' she said.

Maison Deschamps, who calls himself the 'pro-life Spiderman' climbed the tower's 61 floors before being arrested by police in on Tuesday just a day after Roe vs Wade was overturned by SCOTUS.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki floated Tuesday that if President Joe Biden wipes away portions of Americans' student loans, he'd only do so for those making under $125,000 a year. 'Well, the president talked, back on the campaign, about taking steps or looking at steps to help people making less than $125,000 a year, so that is the frame through which he's considering - making considerations at this point,' Psaki said on board Air Force One as the president traveled to Alabama to tour a Lockheed Martin plant .

The sister of Kayleen Waltman, the mother of three, who was viciously attacked by three dogs six weeks ago while walking to her mother's house along a rural South Carolina road, has had 13 surgeries so far and continues to fight for her life. 'When she passed out they were eating her alive,' Kayleen's sister, Amy Wynne, 41, told the DailyMail.com recalling the horrifying March 21 attack.'The dogs dragged her. They scalped her. Her skull was showing. They tore her left eyelid off. They tore her right cheek off left a hole. They ate the skin off her inner thigh and ate the flesh off her arms and ripped them off.' Two weeks ago, once the infection from the dog bites subsided doctors were able to close up her forehead and scalp. She said doctors had to put 109 staples in the front of her head and at least 90 staples in the back of her head. A trachea tube was placed in her throat because the bacteria from the dogs mouth got into her esophagus which her sister said is now permanent. She lost her vocal chords and now has to speak using a voice-generated box. She told the DailyMail.com after the dog attack her sisters blood pressure went down to 86 and that her organs were starting to shut down. 'She is alive,' Wynne said, explaining that her sister died three times. Once in the ambulance, in the helicopter and once on the operating table. 'They had to put in a colonscopy bag and her appendix shut down and they put her on dialysis,' she said. 'Doctors are hoping to regrow the tissue for her colon.'

'He thought it was acceptable to conduct cavity searches on Amber looking for coke': Psychologist testifies Johnny Depp was 'obsessively jealous' and if he was not able to perform he would 'get more angry and blame her'

Amber Heard's first witness was Dr. Dawn Hughes, a New York-based clinical and forensic psychologist who is an expert about domestic violence. Heard appeared to choke up as Dr. Hughes explained why women stay in violent relationships. Dr. Hughes said, 'The most dangerous time for a woman is when she's leaving - her likelihood of being killed increases substantially. Staying keeps her safe'. Dr. Hughes said that women in abusive relationships get into them for the right reasons but slowly their partner turns. This came after Heard 's lawyers made a last-ditch effort to have the case dismissed, only for the judge to deny their request.

The court heard from Erin Falati, also known as Erin Boerum, the former nurse of Amber Heard who appeared by video deposition. The notes state that Heard 'reports history of substance abuse including an addiction to cocaine and liquor'. 'Client admits to a history of anxiety, eating disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, bipolar disorder, codependence issues and occasional insomnia'. The notes add that Heard had been 'experiencing increased agitation recently and has had several outbursts of anger and rage. Her mood has been labile'. In Falati's medical notes from September 2, 2014, she wrote that Heard reported 'difficulty with jealousy issues and anxiety around fiance's fame and ability to interact with females often'.

'I wanted to die for a solid six hours': Researcher, 26, who drank shot of dysentery-causing bacteria in vaccine trial for $7,000 was left with stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea and a fever of 103F

Jack Eberts, from Washington D.C., intentionally infected himself with shigella for a vaccine trial. Within three days of ingesting the bacteria he was up at 3am with a feeling of 'funny business' in his stomach and needing to rush to the bathroom. Over the next two days he faced stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea, a fever of 103F and felt so exhausted that lifting his limbs was a 'Herculean effort'. He recovered after four days, and was paid $7,000 for the vaccine trial. It was a challenge trial, where participants are vaccinated against a disease before being exposed to it to check whether the jab worked. Mr Ebert suspects he got the placebo - or non-vaccine - because his sickness was so bad.

A Louisiana couple indicted on second-degree murder charges in the death of their severely autistic daughter who was discovered 'fused' to a sofa by her own excrement insisted that she never wanted to leave the couch. Clay, 65, and Sheila Fletcher, 64, were arrested on Monday and indicted by a grand jury on second-degree murder charges in the death of Lacey Fletcher, 36, whose emaciated body partly submerged in a hole in a couch at their home in January.Speaking to law enforcement, the Fletchers allegedly insisted that it was Lacey who made the decision to remain on the couch for 12 years, NOLA.com reported. They told investigators that their daughter, who had developed 'some degree of Asperger's syndrome of 9th grade when she started being home schooled,' would use the couch or a nearby towel as her bathroom. Coroner Dr. Ewell Dewitt Bickham III, with the East Feliciana Parish Coroner's Office, said, that based on evidence, it looked as if Lacey had been on that couch for almost 12 years. Bickham also told WAFB that medical records show that Lacey Fletcher did not have a primary care physician. 'In 2010, the parents went to the doctor's office without Lacey and asked his advice on what to do,' Bickham said. 'She is increasingly not wanting to leave the house, not wanting to leave the sofa, just totally recluse.' Bickham said the doctor told her parents to bring their daughter to the hospital, yet she was never admitted and no treatment was provided. The Fletchers were arrested Monday and then indicted on second-degree murder charges. A trial date has not yet been set.

An uninhabitable Washington state home sitting right on the edge of landslide cliff has been listed on the market for a whopping $200,000.  Whatever merits the extravagant price for the declining, unkempt, wire-fenced home remains a mystery. The pastel-green four-bedroom Everett property's asking price has already been cut by $50,0000 from its initial $250,000 Zillow listing after 17 days on the market. The listing advertises the four-bedroom home's few perks - views of the valley, the mountains, and little else - as it tries to convince a buyer that there is potential to transform the property.

In an interview for Town&Country , Farah Pahlavi, 83, who was dubbed the Jackie Kennedy of the Middle East during her heyday, opened up about the overthrowing of her husband Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (pictured together inset). In 1979 the Shah, whose family had already fled to Egypt, was deposed and replaced with the hardline Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini - a shift that would have long-lasting and far-reaching implications. With his liberalising reforms and harsh treatment of his political opponents, the Shah made an enemy of traditionalists in the country, and Khomeini, who had been living in exile in France, successfully returned and announced the creation of an Islamic republic. The women's rights movement quickly regressed. Wearing the hijab was enforced, many of the liberties they had been granted were withdrawn and the female minister of education in Iran, Farrokhroo Parsa, was executed by firing squad.
